"We've been coming to Chestnut Hill Dental for many years. The reason we've been loyal is because of the amazing service we've gotten and most importantly, the staff has been phenomenal. Lauren, Julia and Dr. Calcano are among the best. They always make us feel at home. On a side note, I wish I can say the same with the new receptionist. The younger one is cold and lacks friendly customer service. I was met with a cold response when I asked her a question. She is not very welcoming. We miss Erin."- A. / Demandforce / Sep 24, 2020

"As always, my cleaning with Lauren was exceptional. She is so thorough. And in the wake of Coronavirus, she scrubbed down her office to make it safe for me with utmost care. Her friendly sweet attitude is a bonus!"- R.G. / Demandforce / Mar 12, 2020

There are multiple factors that can determine your teeth alignment: genetics, thumbsucking as a child, the loss of a tooth or teeth, and a physical trauma to your face. If your teeth are misaligned, it can lead to other oral health problems, including dental malocclusion (a bad bite), abnormal enamel wear, trouble speaking and chewing, as well as toothaches and jaw pain. If any concerns are detected during your annual dental exam, an orthodontic treatment, like Invisalign, may be recommended.
An Invisalign treatment is ideal for both adults and teens who want straighter teeth without the pain, hassle, and appearance of braces. While they do need to be worn for most of the time, your aligners can be taken out for eating and brushing your teeth, as well as for special events and playing sports. Far more discreet than traditional braces that cut and poke the inside of your cheeks, your family and friends will probably not realize that you are wearing your Invisalign tray.
What To Expect
Your first set of Invisalign trays will be created using digital impressions at Chestnut Hill Dental. Once they are ready, you will return to get your first sets along with care instructions. You should wear your aligners at least 20 – 22 hours each day for the system to be effective, ideally removing them only for eating and cleaning. Over time, you will move on to the next set of aligning trays as they gently move your teeth into proper alignment. You need to schedule appointments around every 4 – 6 weeks at Chestnut Hill Dental to have the fit of your aligners evaluated and to have more digital impressions taken so your next set of aligners can be made. The length of time that you use the Invisalign system will vary based on the original position of your teeth and your cosmetic goals, but most patients wear aligners for about one year.
As soon as your teeth are in alignment, it is vital to prevent your teeth from moving back to their old position. Invisalign's Vivera retainers are created with the same comfortable materials to help keep your teeth in position after your treatment is complete. Each retainer is custom made at the Invisalign dental laboratory based on digital impressions taken once your treatment is complete. A member of our team will talk to you about how long to wear your retainer, as well as how to care for it once it is sent from the lab. We will continue to watch your teeth alignment and bite during your dental exams to ensure your teeth remain in the correct position.
For most patients, some of their Invisalign treatment cost is covered by dental insurance. Our team will confirm your benefits and calculate your remaining costs. Chestnut Hill Dental accepts many forms of payment for patients who do not have dental insurance. At your Invisalign consultation, we can talk about how much your treatment may cost and ways to make your treatment fit into your budget, including flexible payment plans and medical financing.
