What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?
The dental implants made by Nobel Biocare, All-on-4, offer a revolutionary approach to secure dentures for a total restoration. This treatment works by placing the screws (implants) into four areas on each arch. In contrast to other implant dentures, All-on-4 uses fewer implants to give you a secure fit. The Chestnut Hill Dental team recommends All-on-4 implants for patients who are looking for a fully restored smile without the hassle and dietary restrictions that come with removable dentures. Many Chestnut Hill, MA patients have reaped the benefits of the groundbreaking All-on-4 treatment, enjoying high-quality results. If you're interested in finding out more about All-on-4 implants and custom dentures, we encourage you to schedule an appointment at Chestnut Hill Dental.
Who Is a Candidate for All-on-4 Implants?
Dental implants by All-on-4 can be used to replace the lower and/or upper arches with implanted screws attached to dentures made custom for you. You could be an ideal candidate for All-on-4 implant dentures if you prefer the benefits of implanted dentures over removable dentures, which include few or no dietary restrictions, no messy adhesives, and no special cleaning. You will need to have good bone and gum density to be a candidate, as the screws rely on your bone and gums to keep them in place. If needed, bone and/or gum grafts may be performed before implant placement. One of our experienced dentists can determine whether this treatment is appropriate for you during your initial consultation and can help discuss all your options.
"Dr. Calcano has blessed hands. I was so nervous before a recent dental procedure and she made me feel comfortable. I was done before I knew it and the best part is that it was PAINLESS. Highly recommend her and her staff."- E.A. / Facebook / May 25, 2021

"We've been coming to Chestnut Hill Dental for many years. The reason we've been loyal is because of the amazing service we've gotten and most importantly, the staff has been phenomenal. Lauren, Julia and Dr. Calcano are among the best. They always make us feel at home. On a side note, I wish I can say the same with the new receptionist. The younger one is cold and lacks friendly customer service. I was met with a cold response when I asked her a question. She is not very welcoming. We miss Erin."- A. / Demandforce / Sep 24, 2020
"My Hygienist, Julia, gives of the most thorough cleanings I have ever had. Great atmosphere and top notch facility. Highly recommended."- B.M. / Google / Sep 05, 2020
"Very professional and friendly"- B.Z. / Google / Aug 29, 2020
What Is the Procedure for all-on-4 Dental Implants?
First, we will take scans and x-rays of your teeth. Then, a member of our team will create your unique treatment plan and go over your options for sedation during the implant process. During your first appointment, the implants will be set in your dental arch. One of our dentists will also place a temporary denture over the implants while your mouth heals and your custom dentures are being crafted. After your mouth has had time to heal, you will return to have your custom dentures attached and possibly adjusted for a more comfortable fit.
What to Expect After All-on-4 Implant Surgery
You may experience some discomfort and pain in your gums after implant surgery. When you are wearing temporary restorations, there will be some diet restrictions and cleaning instructions to follow. You will also schedule regular follow-ups during the healing period so the Chestnut Hill Dental team can assess your progress and be sure that the implants are integrating into your bone socket and gums as they should be. Once your custom dentures are set, you will care for them like your natural teeth with daily brushing and flossing. You should continue to go to Chestnut Hill Dental for annual exams and bi-annual cleanings to maintain your restorations, and so that our team can monitor the health of your implants, gums, and jaw.
Are All-on-4 Implants Covered by Insurance?
Several insurance plans may offer limited coverage for implant dentures. It is likely that there will be some out-of-pocket costs, but our team will work with your insurance provider to maximize your coverage. If you don't have insurance, Chestnut Hill Dental accepts many payment methods, including medical financing. Our team works hard to help make your All-on-4 dental implant procedure affordable.
