What are dentures?
Custom-made dentures may be a good option if you need to replace most or all of your teeth. Removable dentures can renew your appearance and allow you to speak and eat with ease. Our experienced dental team can provide either full or partial removable dentures for patients in Chestnut Hill, MA. Full dentures can replace your whole upper arch, lower arch, or both, while partial dentures leave your remaining teeth to act as support. At Chestnut Hill Dental, we will help you decide whether full or partial dentures match your needs, and then have them custom made to look beautiful and natural. Schedule a consultation at our modern facility to learn more about full and partial dentures.
How are denture implants applied?
Implant-supported dentures are anchored with titanium posts in your jaw in order to fit secure and stable. This ensures that the implant dentures will not move out of place, even as you are eating or speaking. With more security and support, patients with implant dentures can feel confident that their dentures will remain where they should be. Implanted dentures look attractive and can be used just like natural teeth. At Chestnut Hill Dental, patients can receive implanted dentures that are comfortable and natural looking. Find out more about implanted dentures and decide if they are a good option for you.
"Dr. Calcano has blessed hands. I was so nervous before a recent dental procedure and she made me feel comfortable. I was done before I knew it and the best part is that it was PAINLESS. Highly recommend her and her staff."- E.A. / Facebook / May 25, 2021

"We've been coming to Chestnut Hill Dental for many years. The reason we've been loyal is because of the amazing service we've gotten and most importantly, the staff has been phenomenal. Lauren, Julia and Dr. Calcano are among the best. They always make us feel at home. On a side note, I wish I can say the same with the new receptionist. The younger one is cold and lacks friendly customer service. I was met with a cold response when I asked her a question. She is not very welcoming. We miss Erin."- A. / Demandforce / Sep 24, 2020
"My Hygienist, Julia, gives of the most thorough cleanings I have ever had. Great atmosphere and top notch facility. Highly recommended."- B.M. / Google / Sep 05, 2020
"Very professional and friendly"- B.Z. / Google / Aug 29, 2020
Who is a good candidate for dentures?
You may be a candidate for custom dentures if you have lost most or all of your teeth, but your jawbone and gums are strong and healthy. If you have natural teeth, these may either be extracted for a full denture or kept with a partial denture. In your appointment, we will examine your condition and give you your options based on your needs and goals.
how are false teeth placed?
If needed, any necessary teeth will be extracted before taking oral impressions, which will be used to craft your custom dentures. Partial dentures will be tinted to match your natural teeth for a seamless result. Once your full or partial dentures are finished, we will adjust them to be comfortable. A member of our dental team will also discuss methods to care for your custom dentures.
what should I expect after partial dentures are applied?
It will probably take some time before your new dentures feel comfortable, but it should eventually be easier to eat and speak normally. If your dentures feel loose, return to Chestnut Hill Dental to have your dentures adjusted. At home, you will need to keep your dentures clean by brushing them twice every day. Whenever you remove your dentures, they should be soaked to avoid drying them out. Continue to schedule annual exams and bi-annual cleanings at our facility so we can watch the wear and fit of your custom denture and the health of your jaw and gums. We will let you know if your dentures should be repaired or replaced but with good care, your dentures should last for a long time.
will dental insurance cover denture treatment?
If you have dental insurance, part of the cost of your dentures will probably be covered. A member of our team will contact your dental insurance company to figure out your coverage and out-of-pocket responsibilities. In your first appointment, your treatment plan will be personalized so your dentures fit both your needs and budget. To assist with making your treatment as affordable as possible whether you have dental insurance or not, Chestnut Hill Dental accepts many forms of payment, including medical financing.
